For Scalp Disorders
The SDU provides a gentle scale removal that is essential in scalp treatment. It facilitates the removal of non-responsive, refractory hyperkerototic scaling that does not respond to traditional shampooing methods, thereby enabling topical medications to work more effectively.
The SDU has proven timely visual results in the treatment of psoriasis. In addition, the SDU can be an essential adjunct in a treatment regimen for such scalp disorders as intractable dandruff, thick crusting of the scalp, severe seborrheic dermatitis, tinea amiantacea, kerion and staphylococcal folliculitis, where manual washing of the scalp is too tramatic.
In Addition to Scalp Surgery
The SDU is a highly beneficial adjunct for surgical procedures of the scalp. In all reconstructive or cosmetic surgeries of the scalp or head and neck, the SDU has been used both before and after operations, including: hair transplantation, micro-grafting, mini-grafting, slit-grafting, scalp reduction, scalp lifting and flap procedures.
Using the SDU to sterilize the scalp pre-surgically will both relax the scalp and relax the patient. Based on surgical experience, relaxation has a profound effect on the amount of anesthesia used during surgery, i.e. a relaxed patient requires less anesthesia, whereas a tense patient requires significantly more anesthesia.
Post-surgically, the SDU - with its programmable temperature and pressure settings - will be a valuable tool in the removal of blood and debris without disturbing stitches, plugs or suture. The SDU is also proven as a sterilizing agent, where patients experienced no infections after surgery, even without any antibiotics.
