What kind of laser do you have and how does it work?
Answer:
Our flagship laser is the MEP-90. This laser is FDA-approved as safe to treat female pattern hair loss. Unlike other types of low energy lasers available at other sites, the MEP-90 must be operated under the supervision of a physician. Learn more about the MEP-90 here.

We also have the state-of-the-art LaserCap™. This laser is also only available by physicians, and is completely portable and easy to use for men and women. Read more about LaserCap here.

Can I be treated with the MEP-90 laser for my MALE pattern hair loss?
Answer:
The MEP-90 is currently only FDA-Approved for women; however, positive results have been seen in men. We are told that research is being submitted to the FDA for approval of the MEP-90 for male pattern hair loss. If you wish to evaluate whether your male pattern hair loss or scalp inflammation will respond to this laser, it will be made available to you.

Does the laser hurt, burn, tingle, etc.?
Answer:
No. The laser technology in the MEP-90 does not emit any heat. You cannot feel anything whatsoever. Read more about Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) here.

When should I/can I begin laser treatment?
Answer:
The sooner you start laser treatment the better. Generally, getting treatment in the first five years of experiencing hair loss is most likely to get the best cosmetic result, but the laser induces regrowth in any hair follicle that can regrow. You can learn more about hair loss here, or more about our laser treatments here.

How long is each treatment?
Answer:
We typically recommend laser hair therapy be given 2 to 3 times per week for 20 minutes in a 6-12 month program. Depending on how your scalp responds, and whether you have other conditions that may trigger continue hair loss, subsequent maintenance treatment is recommended once per month.

What results may I expect?
Answer:
Obviously, individual results vary; however, the laser hair therapy will reduce or completely stop hair loss and improve hair appearance and texture. Many patients may see hair growth in previously thin and bald areas that are not scarred. The MEP-90 results are as follows:

     After 20 treatments:
98% of subjects indicated a significant stabilization of rate of hair loss. 92% of subjects demonstrated an increased hair count of 10%. 57% of subjects demonstrated an

     increased hair count of 30%.

     After 36 treatments:
97% of subjects demonstrated an increased hair count of 20%. 89% of subjects demonstrated an increased hair count of 30%. 57% of subjects demonstrated an increase

     hair count of 50%.
